If your 29 is the same as my 30U it has an external oil pump that has a sump in the bottom of the oil pan with a suction line comiing out the side of the engine just above the pan and goes back to the rear of the pump.  The pressure line comes out the front of the pump and goes into the side of the engine at about the middle (front to back).

I didn't have any oil pressure and sent my pump to Egge Machine Company 11707 Slauson Ave., Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670, 800-866-EGGE. The rebuilt the pump (excellent job) and had it back to me in 10 days. While I was at it I replaced the copper suction line from the pan to the pump. Mine was really bent up and dented. This was no easy fete as I had to buy a special tubing bender to get the right bends.

Anyway the rebuid cost me 165.00 and I had to adjust the presure relief on the engine down to get under the 40PSI idle pressure.

I hope this help with the pump question

I might be able to help if the pump is the same as a 28 model 52 Chrysler 4cyl.  It seems to me that I have a partially disassembled pump which is a vane type. You may contact me outside the forum via information in the Plymouth Bulletin....  Tech advisor 1950

Hello everyone!

Restoration is hectic. The engine is now ready to be tuned, and then we realized that the oil pump is useless, totally destroyed in the inside. yes it can be remade entirely but will take some time. Does anyone know who sells these NOR or NORS? I thought of getting a Ford A pump but really do not know whether these are similar or not. Any hint of subsitute?

The rest of the car is still in zero state. The carpinter that was doing all the wood got a brain stroke, and is recovering slowly, and has most of the car in this garage. Still looking for someone to pick this up.

thanks for the info.
