On my '33 Plymouth the original engine number is stamped on the outside of the frame rail on the driver's side between the running board brackets. Pretty faint. I never even noticed them when I refurbished the frame but only found them years later when someone asked if they were there.

Maybe the '34 Plymouth had it in the same location.

Hi all.. New here - I'll try to keep this short but provide as much detail as possible..
I recently purchased a 1934 Plymouth PE Deluxe Coupe (from an acquaintance in NJ) the NJ title used the engine serial number. The car was modified probably 20 (+/-) years ago .. chopped/channeled and shaved..  custom interior, dash, gauges..  It's a got a Chevy 327, TH 350 trans and Ford 9" rear so not much left original al thought it is a steel body.
I'm working on getting it titled in NC and everyone is telling me it's gonna be a long and crazy ride..
I didn't see any tags on the door pillars.. I haven't started looking on the frame.. Can anyone help in telling me first - what the VIN on this car SHOULD be from the Engine Serial number ?
And second I read a post about the VIN being stamped (or tagged) on the frame on the front left corner (DS) but with the car being channeled - I doubt I'll be able to find that one.. Any other advise would be greatly appreciated as I will have to work with the law enforcement with the VIN for titling.
