That doesn't match any of the engine numbering schemes I am aware of that Chrysler used. I wonder if it is a number assigned by a rebuilding company.

Purchase engine said out of 1937 Plymouth Truck. Engine number on raised pad, left side MS40172MD trying to find out what year and what it is out of. Don't think was original engine in truck.
