Heaters were one of Plymouth's main accessory sellers.  Each year offered many different types in various price ranges - from very inexpensive to full chrome body ones.  Some were plain, others had the name on them (the name tag could easily be changed to fit a Dodge or DeSoto, etc.)  If we could gather enough photos it might make a good article for the Bulletin!  Most were hot-water heaters but there were some gas fired heaters, too.   Hadees was an after-market heater usually sold by Ford dealers.

What model heater do you have??? Seems there were a couple available, as well as aftermarket.  If its a Model 36 you should be able to find a modern core to fit.  I have a small one I found for a potiac sunfire, that looks like it would fit in the housing with little  difficulty. If you are changing the blower motor as long as both fit in the box it should work.

I'll have to get a photo of it for you...but it's in several pieces right now. It's just a black box approximately 8"X10" with two doors on it. The heater core is about the same size and it's about 2.25" thick...There's no name on the front of the box like yours has.

I ended up having a new heater core fabricated for my 1933-35 vintage Hadees heater. It was a number of years ago and I don't remember the cost but it was not cheap.

The previous owner disconnected it (and bypassed it under the hood) most likely because it was leaking...I want to get it back in service so...I was just wondering what others have done to get their heater cores fixed/replaced. I dropped my core off at a local radiator shop this morning and the guy is going to look into it before doing any work on it...but his initial thought was that it would be expensive. He said that this type has a honeycomb core which is not repairable. He said he'd look into getting a new one...which could be $150-200.00 or best scenario would be if he has another good heater core in his own stockpile that he could modify to fit...I thought I'd ask you guys and perhaps find a better solution here before I shell out the big $$$. I did see in the Robert's Motor Parts catalogue a 12v. electric replacement heater for $189.00. That may be an option for me because my car has been converted to 12v. Has anybody bought one of these?...and if so...Are there duct hose hook ups on it for the windshield defrosters? I'm thinking it doesn't. My original heater/defroster has this...It actually has a reversible blower motor...One fan direction sucks heat to defrost the windshield and the other blows heat to warm your tootsies...When I saw that, I thought that was ingenius for the era....Thanks to all in advance for your input.
