Yes. Just remember that the coil is hooked up the same as the battery polarity, positive ground battery-positve ground (through the points) coil. Negative of the coil to the ignition switch and hence onto the car's buss. -------for anybody else who's listening, the coil and the spark plugs WILL work hooked up in the opposite polarity. BUT the polarity of the actual spark is such that it leaves the center electrode and grounds to the bent over grounded electrode of the spark plug. I assume it was Mr. Kettering who designed it this way. He must of discovered early on that his spark was hotter if the polarity was such that the current jumped from the 'hotter' center electrode than the 'cold' grounded electrode. Electrons will more readily leave a heated piece of metal that a cold one. The center electrode becomes quite hot from the combustion going on around it and so the polarity of the spark current is hooked up to take advantage of this. So although the engine will run with the polarity in the 'wrong' direction, there will still be a spark, it will run it's best in the correct direction.?The actual polarity is determined in the manufacture of the coil and is set by the direction of the turns of wire around the lamenated iron core of the transformer(coil).?  ? ? ? ?

You good people informed me that all 31's were postive ground. So now I''m wiring the coil. It has a pos. and neg. terminal. I would assume that from the ignition switch, that wire would go to the neg. terminal on the coil and that from the pos. terminal, the wire would go to the distributor. Am I understanding this correctly?
