I have learned that since the plug is brass, it's expansion rate is just abour double that of steel.  Therefor, pack the plug unit in ice for about one half hour, the plug shrinks and then can be backed out.  You can also use dry ice.

I guess that with the tank out you could grind the face of the plug flat then drill it out.

I never did get the plug out of mine. I finally decided that I'd do more damage trying than whatever good it would be to have it out. While the 1933 owner's manual calls for draining out water and sediment once a year I don't really seem to have needed that.

My 40 plymouth's gas tank has a drain plug which is made of brass.  It is apparently gaulded to the female part of the drain unit.  I am seeking solution to remove the plug without damaging the entire unit.
