Gaskets A and J look like they are for the oil pump. E is used in the timing cover as one or more of those O rings might be. B and C are used under the carburetor (C looks like a double barrel carb) and D looks like the fuel pump to block gasket. Hope that helps.

I am finishing up the rebuild of the 201 engine on my '41.  I bought a universal gasket set that fits a 201, 218, 230 passenger car and 218, 230 Dodge truck.  I have a few gaskets left and I am not sure which ones fit my car.  Please look at the picture below and see if you can identify the gaskets I need by letter.  I have already taken out all of the ones I am positive about.  There were duplicats of some with minor variations such as the timing chain cover, water pump, oil pump, etc.

Gasket E is thick felt.  Gasket J is like a rubber band.  I think Gasket G is for the oil drain plug.  All of the bottom row K-O are made from cork.  The last one (O) is twice the thickness of the others (about 1/4").  I think one of the bottom ones is for the sediment bowl on the fuel pump.

I already removed from the picture the carberator gasket that matched the one on the car.  Just out of curiosity, why do the carberator gaskets have the slits in them?

Thanks for your help.  I just don't want to leave something off of my new engine thinking it belongs to a different model.
