try Pertronix, they even make 6 or 12 V ignition / plus or minus grounded!
very reliable- no problems since years!

  Can anyone tell me where i can get electronic ignition for my 1956 belvedere the distributer in the car is a autolite part no 1688647
model no 1BJ-4301A engine P29 277 small block V8
