Thanks Lew I did find a NOS tank, never been installed, no rust, great shape, so I am back to original and tickled to death with the tank.  I used the plastic tank I had, for quite a spell, it worked great but, I just never got used to, or trusted a plastic tank. lol
Thanks,

non original tanks (polyethylene) are available on ebay. (Bernbaum adverstises new tanks but they are plastic repro's also.)
We have a local radiator shop that can cut out old metal and weld in new. An example just finished for a '32 Caddy cost $500!
Cosmetic work on the tank exterior welded areas by a body shop, etc. is an added extra.
Not sure this helps your situation if the tank is too far gone.

I wasn't going to post pictures of my old gas tank, the one that is all rusted out. Now I decided to post a couple pictures, maybe someone will be sorry for me and sell me a tank. lol The 1st picture of the tank, 2d picture of the inside of tank, 3rd picture of a plastic tank I found at "Runnings" Farm store. A fertilizer tank about 25 gallons and fits right  under the car. looks good. It should work till I find a replacement tank. lol Thanks, I will wait to hear about a tank for sale.
