When I finally put the Plymouth on the road in '92, our two youngest were 11 and 10 years old, they road with me where ever I went in the old Plymouth and did so until they each grew up and left the house.  NO seat belts were ever used, but in our daily drivers during that time it was made clear by me that they would hook up when ever they got in the car or truck or what ever I was driving at the time.

Being that the Plymouth didn't have seat belts when new, I was not required by law to have them installed so that the kids go ride in the car.

I too was in my 20's before I had a car with seat belts.

Anybody know how to hook up 6 volt air bags, and conceal them so the judges won't see them?...

Hey Bob,

Glad you were able to put some miles on the '40 with your navigator. We're keeping two of the grandkids this weekend, but their mother won't let them ride in the '36, cuz it doesn't have seat belts and airbags.  :)  I explained that I was 24 years old before I owned a car with seat belts (airbags were in the distant future), but it didn't do any good.

Mike thanks for the insight, it is greatly apprciated.  Yes, It was hard to tell my loved ones, my wife was wife me the day we found out, but of four boys, only one lives in the area, the other three are scattered around the US and Turkey, it was hard to explain to them over the phone.  Josh, the one son that lives in Oklahoma just had a good friend of his go thru basically the same cancer as me, he said it was rough, but as of now he is doing good.  The hardest part for me since the cemo treatments have started isn't the many bathroom trips, vomitting, but the loss of apitite.  All during my life, if I was sick, I still wanted to eat, not this time, nothing tastes good, not even my coffee, which I would drink close to two pots of black coffee during the course of the say.

I do know that between this forum and the p-15-d24 forum I have had lots of prayers and well wishes headed my way, not to mention that other members have either gone thru related case like mine or has know someone who has.

I like you idea about a cancer survivor's Old Plymouth Club:):)

Mike thanks again and I have included you in my prayers,
Bob

My heart goes out to you and all your family. I guess we have more in common than old plymouths. I have had Multiple myeloma ( a bone and blood cancer for 14 months). The hardest thing about getting cancer is telling the ones you love that you have it. I still find it hard to tell someone that I have cancer who doesn't know yet , I hate to make my friends sad.  Once you get past the ugly word (cancer) it gets a lot easier. Your old plymouth is good for you, several times a day I just go out and wipe it with a cloth, don't do much, but it sure helps. In 20 years we will have to start a old plymouth owners cancer surviors' club , you can be president, I'll be vice president. It will get better after chemo, and by the way, my hair does look better the second time around.
God bless you

Thanks Tom and Neil for the well wishes.  I completed the first of three rounds of cemo therapy Friday, start the next on June 11.

Monday I had two treatments of cemo via IV for a period of five hours, then around 3:30pm I was hooked up to the third bad a cemo that dripped.  The drip was monitored by a small pump.  We came home Monday afternoon and this pump/monitor had to stay hooked up to me until Friday afternoon.  So are so good, I am very tired, but otherwise doing good

Tom Hill,

Hi Bob,
Sorry to hear about the cancer. Hope the treatments go well, and that you can continue putting the miles on your coupe!

Thanks Chet, I appreciate your thoughts and prayers.

We just got home from spending the day in Cooperstown at the cancer treatment center.  I started my first round of chemo treatments today.  In the span of five hours I had two different kinds of cemo, some steriods, a lasix, and some anti nausa medicines thru IV.  I have my third treatment of cemo hooked up right now being administered by a machine that I have in a fanny pack.  My says it is an infusion pump.  That will be finished on Friday afternoon when the county nurse comes to diconnect it.  Then I start the whole procedure over three weeks from today.  I shaved my beard off and got a haircut last week, so that way I could control what happened to my whiskers and hair, not let the cemo take it off for me.

Wednesday I have to be at a Cooperstown satellite station in Delhi for a shot to increase my while blood count as the cemo is going to radically deplete my imune system and the shot will make it not so bad.

I have the Plymouth parked in the garage as it is raining and suppose to rain for the next couple of days, but I will get it outside so that I can atleast look at her

Yesterday afternoon Cooper, Patty and I drove up to Parksville for ice cream. So I did get to enjoy all three of my loves yesterday:):)

Dam.n Bob,  (sorry sometimes an expletive is the only proper adjective)

I just checked in and found the news about the cancer.   I know you are going to beat this thing you just need to stay positive.  Follow you doctor?s directions and ask a lot of questions.  Never feel bad about getting a second opinion when it comes to your treatment.   Like fixing cars there are many ways to skin the cat.  I am not a religious man but did drop a prayer to the big guy to give you break.   Since I don?t bother him much maybe he will take note of the request.

I have not entered in this topic for some time.
First my trip to India, after work in Italy and only a few minutes devoted to the POC and members.
I have spent a few moments because I know that you're faithful and I can always find you when they are on the forum.
Today I read about Bob.
Take care of your health.
I would like to share with you and other fellow members of POC the last work on P8.

I found out last week that I have stage two throat cancer.

Who knows, I may even become a shadow of myself because of the feeding tube, which really isn't a bad thing as I am a rather heavy man.

Yesterday I went with my son, his wife and young daughter to Rhinebeck, had a great time.

Dear Bob,

Wish you all the very best to come through with this treatment . I believe you have the right attitude to over come this illness. I will look forward to having you back on the forum

Cheers

I found out last week that I have stage two throat cancer.  I will have no surgery but under go six weeks of intense cemo and radiation treatments five days a weeks.  I have to be back up to Cooperstown, NY on Thursday for a series of tests that will take all day.  I figure that I also will find out when all the treatments will start.  I will have to have a feeding tube installed and a port for the cemo installed also.  The feeding tube is so that I will be able to eat as my throat and mouth will become very sore after the radiation treatments.  Who knows, I may even become a shadow of myself because of the feeding tube, which really isn't a bad thing as I am a rather heavy man.

Yesterday I went with my son, his wife and young daughter to Rhinebeck, had a great time.  I got to visit with Greg G, Mark D and Rich W who each had thier Plymouths there.  Today Cooper and I are going to add more miles to the "Wayback Machine" as it looks like the old thing is going to sit for a long time.  We are also looking for lodging in Cooperstown that will accept Cooper those six weeks.  He is as much therapy as a old, fat, bearded man can ask for.

Hey Bob, How you doing.  What does "DEC"  stand for (not for December I hope).  Here we have the "GFP" (Game-Fish-and Parks) or "DNR" (Department of Natural Resourses)  I would imagine it stands for something along that line?  Just curious. Great pictures, wonderful country you live in. Where is that again?  lol

Go,

I was up there last Spring with my Father, on one side of the bridge the DEC was stocking the river with trout, on the other side of the bidge there were fishermen in the river catching them
