You're not that far from South Bend, Indiana or Auburn, Indiana or Indianapolis - may as well make it a "clean sweep" circle tour, visit the Studebaker Museum, Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg Museum and the Indy 500 Museum.  If you're that close - don't miss 'em!

The Concours d'Elegance of America will be held on July 31, in Plymouth, Michigan, on the grounds of The Inn at St John's.  This is the car show formerly held at Meadow Brook, once property of the late John Dodge family.  It's one of the best car shows in the country.  This might be fun for a car guy.

grand rapids is 2+ hrs from Detroit.  Is this s Driving trip? or are you flying to Mi?

Plym_46  I'm from Texas, so 150 miles (2+ hours) is common to us because Its 150 miles from my driveway to the front door of my  (or is that 150 feet) House.    ;D

*Amtrak to Grand Rapids then rent a (fast) car!!!   8)

The Wife will meet with her best friend from HS and they will go do girl stuff like manicures etc. I will take the "Fast car" and drive to the North Detroit area and get a Hotel.... Hit as many car museums as possible. I can't wait!

Thanks for the information guys! keep it coming!

There is also the Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills. They have great displays and periodically change what is being shown. A little further north in Flint, the Sloan Museum has cars and auto related displays, also the Dort Offices are available for touring. In Lansing, the Oldsmobile Museum has a nice display of cars. There are many more, but this should give you a start. Have a great trip!

Oops, haven't had my coffee yet, and don't have a Michigan map handy. You might want to visit HF & GV on the way to or from the reunion. It's in the Detroit area.

The Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village (they have a website) is well worth the visit. Much of Greenfield Village will take you back about 130 years or so, and the museum has cars of all makes, not just Ford products.

Ok, I know that this is a little early but I just found out that me and the Mrs. are going to Grand Rapids Michigan (wifes' HS Cllass reunion) this summer and I need your advice.

Last year we visited (and just Loved) The Gilmore Car museum. So this summer (july) I want to know if any of you guys know of any other GREAT car museums like in, Detroit or other such places there abouts?

...... what say you?
