engine color

the 50 engine is silver including the head and water pump pulley. Accessories are black. Someone was being artistic. The true Red Head engines date back to the late 20s.   dp  50 tech advisor Plymouth bulletin

hello everyone
       I just got a 1950 4 door deluxe. my question is the proper color of the engine. the cylinder head  is painted red with the block silver, my 1939 is solid silver, did they change color ? or is this the work of a previous owner the guy i got it from did not know. i have seen a few cars painted like this. hopefully one of you gents will know.  thanks
