Dear Hydrive,

no idea, what the Hydrive/ engine oil specs should be. Anyhow, Try site    http://www.millersoils.co.uk  for Info  s in germany I igot phone info by a Brit who seemed very competent. Maybe They offer this for US too. He considered the rebuit status, oil filter layout, material of engine / valves etc.

As far as I have been told, for Engines without full flow oil filters, a highly detergent oil is not best. It keeps dirt particles floating in the oil, they will not be filtered out in every circulation and feed them back to the bearings, causing havier wear than on full flow filter engines..

So, following my informations, it may be better to let them sedimentate to the oil pan. rather then keeping them floating.

On our annual oldtimer car fair I found Millers Oils Company. They offer a wide range of speciallies. They recommended a low detergent oil for my parallel (vs. full flow) P23 Filter System. I change it every year.

Seems as they have experienced advice for every oldtimer engine configuratioin, see

Their prices are higher, but I think it is worth it!
Good luck! Go.

What kind of oil do you all think that I sould use in the engine of my Hydrive car, remember that the trans will use the oil from the engine also. What oil should I use in the rear end. With all the new items out there I am getting lost with what I sould use. P.S. the engine in the car is a Industrial replacement one from the Jasper company. ??? ??? ???
