hi had to re post as i cant open the last posting for some reason looks like im havin as much luck with my pc as them there brakes!!!
it's adjustment and the problems its causing me does anyone know of a tried and tested cheat to adjusting these without using a brake anchor gauge which I dont have and cant seem to find. have tried to adjust them after full brake rebuild and they just wont have it. the book says .006 between shoe and drumso its a close fit and i know that these are known to be fun to work on any ideas

The anchor pin position is very important. It is not necessary to remove these on the rear, so they are probably still correct. On the front, they have to be removed to change the wheel cylinders , so the adjustment has likely been altered.
   1  Start with the arrow on the anchor pin pointong toward the cylinder. 

   2 make sure the adjusting cams are in the full off position

   3Turn the anchor until the heel of the shoe (anchor end) just rubs the drum. (you may have to remove and replace the drum several times and chalk the shoe to indicate contact)
   4 install drum and adjust cams by pulling the wrench (3/4") downwards  for both cams until the shoe drags. back off ever so little.
   If you have some extra old drums that are not much use for anything, you can cut a pie shapped wedge out of one and use it for a guide.
