I just checked my Plymouth Passenger Car Parts List, 1941 (not 1940) Model Series.

On page 9-1, there is an exploded view of the engine. The generator bracket in the view looks like your photo (triangualr), and the part number is 622783.

The 1936-42 Condensed Master Parts List shows a "generator adjusting strap", as part #622783 for all models, P-1 through P-14.

The picture in the book doesn't look like your photo though; it is mostly straight, not triangular.

That bracket is very easy to repair. Cut off the old hole then a new piece of same thickness material can be welded on the end, dressed down so the weld doen't show, ground and filed to shape and re-drilled.
