Late reply, but it will be accurate.  Your 318 engine is the correct silver used in 1960.  1962 the color changed to red on the 318 and to blue in 1970.
Life is what you make of it.

Gentlemen --
I'm not too familiar with '60 engines other than the Commando types, which that year all had red blocks and gold valve covers (mostly, though one or two slipped through with red valve covers -- with Dodge Division producing all of the "B" series wedge engines).  The "Golden Commando" 305 horse/361 CID and 325/383 mills (both with single 4-barrel carbs) also had red intake manifolds with gold aircleaners.  Both "SonoRamic Commando" engines (i.e., 361 and 383 with the 2X4V ram induction systems), of course, had the red blocks, gold valve covers, and gold aircleaners, but their long, looping manifolds were gold.
A buddy of mine had the 230h.p. 318 1X2V carb) and I remember it having a silver block when I helped him replace the water pump.  However, I can't remember for sure the color of the aircleaner, though I think it was black, and I think (repeat, think) the 260 horse (1X4V) 318 had a red aircleaner.

Check out webmaster Mark Olson's website at www.turbinecar.com   There is a section there on engine colors.  Mark has a disclaimer about its accuracy; it was something put together by a non-Plymouth Club member but it might answer your questions.  I believe different size engines had different colors but the V8 cars are a mystery to me!!

Don't know anything official, but the 318 cu.in. V8 in my family's 1963 Belvedere was red. First car I ever did any work on.... I recall the block and valve covers red with black air cleaner. On the other hand, the last time I saw that car was around 1972 so my memory could be quite a bit off.
