The numbers for the cars are likely coming off the cars themselves: The serial number, body number and engine number were all put on the car. See http://www.ply33.com/Misc/vin for the location of the serial number over the years.

The part numbers come out of (surprise!) the parts books. Original parts books come up on eBay and are carried by various vendors of automotive literature. Most parts books and many/most service manuals are also being reprinted. Look in Hemmings Motor News or the Plymouth Bulletin for possible vendors.

Guys I know very little about fixing cars. So heres a dumb question. Were is everybody getting the numbers of the parts? And the numbers of their cars?
