I had my flywheel balanced at Bell & Gaines in Modesto, California.? When I picked it up the fellow mentioned that he had replaced the bolts as one of them looked bad.? I called Bell & Gaines today and was told they can get most of the those bolts if they are not in stock.? Their number is (209) 521-9400.

As an aside, I had the crank balancing work done at Valley Balancing and Machine in Ceres, California.? The machine work on my engine was done by Reed Restoration and Machine. (209) 668-1099.? Reed specializes in rebuilding Model A engines.? Their entire business is rebuilding a variety of antique engines (stock, modified and racing).

The people over on the forum at www.p15-p24.com seem to have had good luck with Terrill Machine in Texas and with Vintage PowerWagon. I just took a quick look on that site for contact information but did not see it. A web search turns up:

Terrill Machine Shop Rr 2 Box 61 De Leon TX (254) 893-2610

The fellow who owns Antique Auto Parts Cellar owns some 1930 Plymouths and can also be a good source:

I generally try my local auto supply first as I like to keep money in town. I have had pretty good luck with mundane things (tune up parts, 6v batteries, etc.) from Bob's Auto Supply in Sunnyvale. I'd be a little surprised if they had a good source for engine parts though.

As I mentioned in an earlier posting here, I'll be pulling Bob's allegedly 'rebuilt' '41 engine down to bare block to find out what sort of problem it has, and, of course, will have to  be doing everything over'from the ground up' so to speak......

The old-line engine shops in this area, with whom I'd dealt for years and years, are now out of business and gone, sad to say, so I'll have to be finding parts over the internet.

Can anyone recommend good suppliers for engine internal parts, such as bearing shells, etc.? I'd dealt with Egge in L.A.,  and gotten good service, but they tend to be a bit 'pricey'.......who has the old stock in Federal Mogul, etc., these days, is reliable, and is reasonable to deal with?

Does anyone know of anyone who might have some of the old stock on the flywheel bolts for '30's Dodge/Ply sixes, p/n 871685? (that bolt is a 'special, a standard capscrew won't work)

cheers
