Thanks, Jim.......it looks as tho I should be asking around for the lower channels from a '34 PF car then?

Does anyone know of anyone who has a '34 PF parts car or has parted one out and may have those glass channels?

cheers

My parts book shows it as the "lower channel"...

Thanks, Jim......... : )

Now its just a matter of finding the relevant part.......do you, perchance, know what the correct nomenclature for that part......the part which to which the bottom edge of the glass is secured.....might be?

cheers

Carla - shouldn't be a problem to convert over as I recall.  I can't say I've seen a PF window put in a PE but I have seen the PE windwing/window combination in a PFXX so I know they fit....sorry, I don't have any mechanism to offer you but will keep my eyes open.

The front door glass in our '34 PE has done the usual de-lamination over the years, and has become literally opaque, so we need to replace the glass.....but....the fancy window frames for that gimmicky system the '34's used have become sufficiently rusted that they'd need to go out for replating.

I really don't like the complication level of that system, and have some fears about finding a plater who could properly restore those frames instead of ruining them, so I'm thinking of converting the PE to the simple one-piece windows as used in the '34 Dodge truck cabs, and.....if I remember correctly.....the '34 PG Plymouth cars. (it appears as tho we could do that without altering anything, and keep the original frames in storage so that the original system could be restored in future, if desired.)

So.....the question is.....Has anyone converted the PE door glass to a simple one-piece window?  Does anyone have spares of the '34 Dodge truck or '34 PG part (I don't know the correct nomenclature for this part.....possibly a 'rail' or a 'channel'), which holds the glass at the bottom, and has a longitudinal slot which carries the little 'button' on the end of the 'window regulator' lift arm?

cheers
