Straight eight in a Chrysler product - not in the 1950's.  It could have been a 30's or 40's vintage Chrysler with a straight 8.  Dodge had a straight 8 from 1930-1933; DeSoto also had a straight 8 but it was gone by 1933 as well.  Chrysler kept the 8 in the "senior" series of cars but from 1951 on they were all V8 Hemi engines....

nope, no straight eights in any Plymouths until I think 1955 when they went to the overhead valve V-8
Prior to that they were all flat head six's

I'm sorry about that.  Somehow I managed to hit the post button.  Let me start again. My name is Michael and I am an avid classic car fan.  The reason I am posting is that I will be coming into some money in the near future, and I might like to buy an old Plymouth.  My grandparents had one that the drove into the ground until the early 80's.  It was a 52 Cranbrook.  I always thought that it had an old straight 8 in it, but I have been unable to find one for sale with such an engine.  All I can find are 6's, so that got me wondering wheather or not Plymouth sold cars with 8's in the early 50's.  If they didn't then I'l stop searching for one.  I hope that someone can answer this for me.  Thank you
