The techinical advisor for your car is Darrell Davis his phone number is (407)330-9100, or 701-4493 cell. Email .
If anyone can help he probably can. If you Father was a member of the club use his name since they might ask for it to see if you are a member.

Thank you. I remember that my dad spoke with Mr. Davis on occasion. I will email him (I'm at work) and hopefully he can help.

Hi, I'm new here, but I believe my dad was a member; I know he used to get the print bulletin, and perhaps he has spoken to some of you on the phone (he didn't very much like using a computer).

He passed away a year and a half ago, and I'm tasked with getting the front wiring straightened out on his '54 Plymouth Belvedere convertible in preparation for sale. He had started in on replacing some frayed wiring, but unfortunately passed before finishing and things are in a confusing state right now.

The wiring in question comes forward in a tape-wrapped harness on the left side through the front support and each wire should connect to a terminal block there to power the headlights and front signal lights. The ends of the wires were frayed where they terminated at the block, and this is what he was hoping to replace. I went and marked down the wires and colors, and there are six of them: red (with confusing tracer; perhaps three with a cross), black with two tracers, two yellows with one tracer, and what seems to be two greens (one with one tracer, the other with what seems to be perhaps three tracers and a cross).

Here's where it gets confusing. Looking at the wiring diagram in the service manual, it only shows five wires: red, black, yellow, brown and green, with no mention of tracers.

I'm going to go over and double-check that what I thought were two greens really are, or perhaps one was really brown. I peeled back some of the tape to get a look at clean cloth, but I still could have made a mistake. Of course, the wiring diagram won't tell me where the sixth wire gets connected.

I'm hoping that someone with the same car, or detailed knowledge of this car, can straighten out my confusion. Photos of another '54 Plymouth's wiring terminal would be great. Mom is looking to be able to sell the car in the near future, and I want to get the front wiring squared away before she does.

Thank you so much for any help.
