I do appreciate the comments. I think I had better trust someone else to do it. I have to swap out the guts of the speedometer because the one from the very nice instrument cluster I purchased on eBay awhile back isn't working. (Odometer not advancing) So, I thought it best to simply swap out the guts of the speedometer from the original one. (It worked!!) Thanks again for the very useful information. :D

If better on hand, ask a clock repair, they have lots of pullers etc.

It is pressed on and the one time I tried to remove mine many, many years ago the result was a fairly expensive trip to a speedometer repair facility. I think they have tiny special purpose pullers that can get the needle off without breaking the fairly delicate shaft. Or maybe they are just a lot more talented than I.

I need to remove the speedometer needle from my 1933 Plymouth PD coupe. Does it screw off or does it simply lift off? I don't want to damage it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
