Go,

The engine is in about 100 pieces. down to the last bolt. I'm taking it easy.
Planning to paint it first with POR15 silver gray. This paint seems to have the best experiance with mmost Pymouth owners. The exhaust with Motip black, heat resistant if I can find a satin one.
The brackets will go black satin.
I'm still not shure if I'm goint to paint the valve covers black or silver. But, thats the last item. Seen an engine on P15-D24 with black valve covers. Looked good but isn't original.
I plan to have the car ready somewere this summer.

Dear Edwin,

There is one side on P15 D24 site (Reference) with engine colors: all silver Block, details colors are listed. Info does not go until 1955.  I too believe jtw37 has been told right, but as long as Your block isn?t in the car, I would ask  the 1955 tech., Jason Rogers, jrogers(at)blue-bird.com. Maybe they changed to different colors later to identify engine types.

Does the engine run well now?
May be we manage to make an international  POC meet on Rhine orr Maas River when Your 55 is on the road again?

Greetings . Yours Go

Just come accross this post.  ??? If I've been told correctly, Mopar (Plymouth) had a thing for all silver engines, with satin black brackets and some accessories. Duplicolor is supposed to be the closest color to the original.

Original or Street Rod? That is the question. Is is right or wrong to do either? No, as long as an old car is preserved. What difference does it make. I have both.

I'm rebuilding my 1955 P27 engine. I have a shop manual, I thought had the engine colour but I cann't find it. Does anyone know the correct engine colour?
Was it one-tone or did it have different colours. Mine is now silver-grey. Is this the correct colour?
And I want it to last, is there a special type I should look for?
I plan on paintint the exhaust also. any suggestions what paint to use there?
