That's what I do. I just take the old bearing to a bearing shop and they mike it and get me a modern sub. Works every time. You'll go crazy trying to find the original number. Like playing some kind of auto parts lotto.? ?? ?
? ?Be careful with Chrysler bearings as a lot of them,if not all, are metric! Originals from SKF in Sweden have been found back in the 30s in cars never touched since new.

I have been to Applied Tech ( which is nationwide bearing co.) they had the number NICE - N5068 in one of there books, but said they didn't have any other info. I then went of Baker Bearing (they deal exclusively in old and obsolete bearings) and they couldn't help either.

I went to a friend who deals in mopar old stuff and we went through his old parts books. He has original NICE Bearing books and we found these numbers, but still don't seem to find a supplier.

Apparently N44 was the original bearing. It had ID of 1.812, OD of 3.062, and was .75 thick.

Other numbers that have the same demensions are: N847, N939, and N1075.

Have you tried a good bearing supply shop?  Take the old one in with you.  Many times they can cross reference by manufacturer or by the number on the bearing.  Other times they can measure the bearing and cross reference by size.  If you don't have a bearing supply store nearby, try an implement dealer such as CaseIH or John Deere.  Many times they have bearing cross reference books. 

Anyone know of a replacement number for the throwout bearing. Mine is a 30U. My original has NICE BALL BEARING CO. NICETOWN PHIL. PA. No. 5068.
