I installed a 6 volt positive ground alternator on my 31 PA. reason? I just could not find a rebuildable generator, still looking. The alt. works fine. I bought it from Quick Start Automotive Electric. Web sit www. alternatorsparts.com, phone number 1-616-785-7990. The one I used is 6volt,35 amp self exciting, internal regulator. $129.95, they also have a 53 amp. Now I see they have a kit to convert a reg 12 volt GM alt. for $59.95. The onsite instructions for doing a conversion looks very complete and doable. I also bought there installation kit for the alternator, it required a good bit of alteration to make it fit right. Sorry about this rambling message, I'm a better back yard mechanic than a writer, hope it helps. Bill James
