disc brakes for 65 Plymouth

Thank you  for input.........I have located a site on the Web (Scarebird.com) which sells a  spacer
and a bracket which is suppose to allow me to mount  plymouth disc brakes components from 69-72
which I can buy new from my local auto parts store. I ordered the bracket and parts and I'll let you know how it works out.Thanks ........Steve

You will have to change the spindles. The only other option is to buy Wildwood's kit.

The 65, 66, 67 and 68 should all interchange but you need the spindles and all the brake hardware including the hoses.  The best would be to find a set from a 66 or 67  Fury or Dodge Polara/Monaco or Chrysler Newport.

Here are the Chrysler part numbers to look for.

65 Disk spindle = Left 2462589  Right 2462670

66, 67 Disk spindle = Left and Right 2462969

68 Disk spindle = Left and Right 2462968

65, 66, 67 and 68 Drum spindle = left and right 2269129

65, 66, 67,68 all Lower ball joint disk or drum brake = Left 2525450 Right 2525451

68 the disk brakes used a different lower ball joint on each side = 2808274 and 2808274

You can see you need the lower ball joints if you go to 1968 - you need the spindles to match in other years.  Drum use the same both sides while Disk use different on each side.

We recently bought a 65 Plymouth Fury 1 with drum brakes and want to install disc
brakes for safety. I assume they were offered with disc brakes. What year ranges
of Chrsyler company brakes will work on the 65 spindles?If someone has access to
an interchagability book please drop me a note or if you know of a company that
rebuilds and sells disc brakes for this year Plymouth please let me know......thanks
