Neg. or Pos. for 31

Chrysler Corporation cars and trucks were positive ground up to and including 1955.? Except for the 1953-55 Crown Imperial, all were 6-volt - the C.I. was 12-volt.

For the 1956 model year., 12-volt negative ground electrics were adopted.

My 1951 Plymouth is still positvie ground and I think that all the 6-volt systems remained positive ground until the 12-volt system replaced it.

You're right, they're wrong. It's been said before but I'll put in my 2 cents worth---- All Chrysler,Plymouth,Dodge and DeSoto vehicles, that includes trucks, had a 6 volt positive ground battery and charging system up until atleast WWII. How long after WWII I'm not sure.  :)

I have a 31 and bought a wiring harness for it(YnZ's yesterdays parts). They labeled it for 31 PA &32PB. My manual,that came with the car, shows a neg. grd. The wiring diagram they supplied (32PB) shows a Pos. grd. I haven't compared each and every wire on the diagram, but they appear similar.
I researched the archives of this Tech. Disc, and found a statement that all Ply's 28 to 32 are Pos. grd.
Hard to believe the manual that came with the car is wrong, but I'm  sure it happens.
Need guidance. Thanks, David
