DENNISKS

Just to give you and idea how hard it is to find a cap for these cars. My father bought the car I now have in 1956. The cap had the tips broken off as usual. He has looked for a good origional cap ever since. That is over 50 years. He had found one poor reproduction out of brass. I have since had it replated in nickel. It will be used for street shows.  I was also able to find one that is correct. Bad part is it cost me over $ 500.00. THe whole car sold for $ 695 new.  If you find a good cap buy it no matter what price. They are very few and far between.  O and the reason they are all broken is bacause the tips came back past the edge of teh hood. If the car needed the hood open you had to remove the radiator cap first. Took too long to cool down.

Don Sommer's radiator caps are made of stainless steel and flash chrome plated.? He has a web site: http://www.donsommer.com/
Jay Fisher's radiator caps are triple chrome plated over brass.? Either one will require a little adjustment to make a good fit.? If you want an original one - good luck - hard to find one without at least one wing broken off.

As regards the steering wheel switch - are you refurring to the part on the steering wheel itself, or the part at the other end - where the wires connect?? There are two steering wheel switches - one controls the lights, the other the throttle.

Sebastiano is a new member to the club; as the only member in Italy, its hard to say how long it will take his copy of the Plymouth Bulletin to reach him.  Try these two places for reproduction radiator caps:  Jay M. Fisher, Acken Drive 4-B, Clark, New Jersey 07066 (732) 388-6442 or Don Sommer, 105 Kinross, Clawson, MI  48017  (248) 435-6115 or fax 435-4670

Try the Plymouth Bulletin - it's a great source of information.  There are a couple of vendors listed that make reproduction radiator caps.
