I have two transmissions, one from a model PA that I plan to keep for spares for my own PA, and one from a model PB. I have not pulled the top off to see if it has square gears or what shape there in. If you want it, your welcome to come and get it. I live in Yorktown VA. If your interested I will dig it out , pull the top off and have a look. I realize thats quite a drive down, anyway it's here if you want it. You could e-mail me at

I am on my third search for a good working transmission for my 31 PA.I have owned the car since 1970 and just last year I lost a tooth on the cluster gear. I bought a second transmission in Brooklyn about 20 years ago, so I did not think I had a big problem until I poped the top on it and the cluster gear had a tooth missing on the same gear!

I have two 31's with a broken tooth on the cluster gear (both are hex or straight cut gears used in early 31) and a 32 I just put(traveled to Md. to get this one) in with a groaning- whining sound that the other two did not have.

Anyone in the New York area have a good working 31 or 32 transmission?   Any suggestions on what is causing the groaning noise in the 32 transmission?

Has anyone ever rebuilt a 31 or 32 transmission?
