I am not sure about passenger cars but apparently for same era Dodge trucks removing the front clip as one piece is fairly common. I think one advantage of removing and reinstalling it as one unit is that all the various pieces are kept in relative alignment. From your question it sounds to me like al the pieces have been disassembled so the relative alignment has already been lost. If that is true then I think your best bet would be to assemble it piece by piece on the car.

Hi All, I inherited a 1950 Plymouth Business Coupe with all the front end sheet metal removed in pieces. He removed it all to install a new steering box which he did. I did not see the removal so I'm a little in the dark how to put it back together. Can I put it all together on the floor like a front clip and then install in one piece? Or start hanging the pieces one by one on the car?  I have seen the front clip removal of a 1950 GMC pick up on Utube and wonder if the Plymouth has the same feature. Thanks in advance. Mat
