Whats the code or secret to install a head light lens into a 1937 Plymouth PT 50 or Dodge trucks light bucket?

It looks simple, but i don't want to break the lens. The clip inside to bucket which is the adjuster, keeps falling out while trying to cram everything inside the bucket. See Photo

As always, any help or ideas is appreciated.
