Thottle Control Rod Assembly '41

Thanks for the information.  I think I will omit the nut unless it is needed for some reason that is not evident at this time.

The throttle control rod assembly on my '41 P-12 does not have that nut.

The attached picture shows the Throttle Contol Bell Crank to Carburetor Rod.? This is the end that attaches to the carburetor.? Was the nut originally used on these or was this a later modification by someone in the field?? The nut just slips over the rod and serves as a spacer.? Since the part is obviously not on the car, I can not tell if the nut is needed to align the swivel with the carberator.? I would like to know if you have a similar nut on your control rod.? The shop manual has an illustration of this linkage, but it does not appear to show the nut.
