I don't know how I missed this back in September. . .

The headlight switch on my '33 PD had pretty high resistance. I carefully bent the tabs holding it together and cleaned up the contacts as best I could. But I also found that the phenolic board the contacts were on had heat damage. Maybe from me running 50 cp bulbs. Maybe from oxidation on the contacts. In any case, the best cleaning I could do still resulted in about 1 ohm of resistance.

Takeaway: You can disassemble the switch. And maybe you can clean it up enough. But no guarantee.

I noticed a universal headlight switch in the bubble pack area of my local auto supply that had the same two position pull out operation. I re-threaded the pull rod on it to match the thread on the original knob and installed it in my car. Unless you look under the dash you won't know it isn't original. Pretty cheap fix as long as you have the die for cutting the correct threads for the knob.

I'm looking for a headlight switch for my 33 PD. Does anyone have any info on a supplier. Can the old switch be repaired?  Seems like the contacts may just be dirty on the inside. Not sure if taking it apart would be advisable.  Thanks any any help
