Should be first pull click is for parking lights pulled all the way out the headlights come on. In those days it was either parking lights or headlights. Not both at the same time.

Can anyone describe to me how the headlight switch should function. I believe when my coupe was painted, several wires were hooked up incorrectly. Should parking lights only come on at first position of switch, and when fully out should the headlights come on? My car has one yellow wire, one red wire, and one black wire going to the headlight. On my car, on first position the headlights come on, when fully out the parking lights only come on. According to the manual, it appears the headlights should be on at full out position of the switch.Any suggestion/advice would be greatly appreciated!
