1933 Plymouth Gas Sending Unit

I am not aware of an inexpensive replacement for the '33 sending unit. If your unit is mechanically good, just that the resistance wire is shot it may be possible to repair it. The only source of a new sender that I am aware of is both expensive and from a vendor I did not have much luck with.

My 33 Plymouth gas gauge has never worked accurately. It appears that a new one or to have mine rebuilt is very expensive. I've checked out a generic unit at JC Whitney; however, my mechanic stated one manufactured for the car make and year would be best. Is anyone aware of NOS units available or any help/suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
