Rear End Inner Axle Seal
I am rebuilding the rear end of my 29 U Plymouth, and want to replace the inner axle seals.  However, I have not found a replacement seal that will fit.

The Federal Mogul/National seal book lists the inner seal as a 1+3/16 inch.  However, when I removed the axle, and the old seal, it clearly requires a seal of 1+3/8 inch (1.375 inch) with a bore of 2.312 inches.  The axle shaft where the seal rides is the same size as where the bearings fit, and they are 1+3/8.  The shaft is 1+3/16 where the spline meets the differential, which may explain where that number came from.  The Plymouth Master Parts book for 28-32 states that the outer axle seal is 1+3/8, but that must be a misprint meant to say inner axle seal, since the outer are 1+31/32 inch.

CR and National both have seals for 1.375 inch, but not for a bore of 2.312 (2+5/16).

Has anyone out there ever replaced the inner seal on a 29 Plymouth (or 28 through 32 for that matter) and came across the same problem?  If so, where did you obtain a seal?
U might want to check with Earl Buton-he is listed in the Bulletin under Technical Advisors and he is quite knowledgeable
