Just my 2 cents-- As many of you stated, scratching the whitewall is a concern. I found a great cleaning product at the local dollar store. It's called "Awesome". It only costs a dollar at it cleans very well. I just spray it on the white walls and wipe it off with a rag. I follow up with a spritz of clean water and the tires look great without any abrasives.

I always used an SOS pad, for years, until I heard of Westley's, and liked both, however, now I think I will try locate some of B52 Brown Soap, sounds good. I like stuff that makes me work "less" hard lol. Thanks Bigaadams, I will post if I find it.

Thankyou for the help. I've always used Westley's on my family car also; however, didn't want to take a chance on damaging the whitewalls on my new classic tires. Several individuals at a recent cruise-in stated they also used the blue sos pads forever. Guess it is the best way to go; however, still concerned the pads may scratch the whitewall. Thanks again for the suggestions.

SOS pads are all I've ever used on white walls.  Works great.

I've used Westley's Bleche White for years to clean whitewall tires, white letter tires and the wheels on everything I own in the way of rolling stock. Give it a try.  I think it is a strong alkaline solution, comes in a spray bottle.  Find it at wal-Mart, O'Rileys, AutoZone, etc.  DO NOT let wind blow the sprayed product into your eyes !!!

Last year I bought a set of Firestone WW tires for my PD coupe. Over the winter noticed light brown/tan blemishes appearing on the WW. My mild WW cleaner gets most of it after much elbow grease. I called Universal and they stated they clean them with SOS pads. They stated it is the oils in the rubber being drawn out due to moisture in the air.  Never heard that before for white wall tires. Does anyone have a better/quicker and perhaps safer way to get those WW tires ready for the car shows and cruise-ins??
