In my email to you I forgot to mention that with wear the inside latch mechanism might not be perfectly lined up. Try pushing in on the latch tongue on the edge of the door a little when you try to work the handle free.

I need to remove the outside front drivers door handle on a 1933 Plymouth. (The handle is from passenger side with lock mechanism. The key cylinder is out) The bezel screws are out but I can't pull the handle out of the door. There appears to be a clip or keeper inside the door which holds on to the shaft of the handle. I can see a bit into the area of the handle shaft, but it's enclosed and looks hard to access. How do I disengage the clip that holds on to the handle? Any info on how to remove the handle would really be helpful. Thanks
