I believe that refers to the engineering code for the vehicle. That was used in the parts book and, starting in 1934, the factory service manuals when dealing with the various cars. Marketing literature typically had totally different names.

For 1933, you had the "Plymouth Six" (PC), the "Plymouth DeLuxe Six" (PD) and "Plymouth Standard Six" (PCXX).
