From a 1944 MoToR's Repair Manual, the wheel lug nuts should be 58.5-66.5 ft-lbs.

Interestingly, it appears that neither the 1936-42 factory service manual nor the 1948-54 factory service manual have that particular torque specification.

your are 1/2 x 20NF     I torque mine to 80-85 foot lb dry..you may look up a torque chart online if you wish..they are easily found..try this one if you like..most shops set between 80 and 90 depending upon steel or aluminum wheels..check them proper torque a few days later as a precaution..

Now that I have my nice new WW tires, old ones were 13 years old-Yikes, I need to know how tight should the wheel bolts be?  I've looked in both the Owner's Manual and the Shop/Service Manual and no where does it list a torque setting for the wheel bolts. I'm sure you guys all check your car's wheels from time to time and know this important setting. Thanks.
