Jim Benjaminson

Hi - haven't been on the forum for sometime.....the photo of the toolbag was not taken by me - it belonged to the late Robert S. Jones of Morrisville, Vermont.  He was one of the first people I met through Hemmings Motor News and I aided him in finding parts for the 34 PE Town Sedan he was restoring - a car that had belonged to his father and he had driven as a young man.  The photo is in black & white, so I can't tell you the color of the bag, handles of the tools, etc.  I know his family has kept the car since his passing. Sorry I can't be any more specific to help you with your quest.

Oh yes, another note -- its not that I don't want phone calls, its just that I am gone a lot and not home to take your calls.  You can try, I'm in the phone book!

Great, thanks for that, I will address Jim here than.
Jim I have been collecting 28-36 Plymouth tool info and original tool bags and kits for some years now for my studies, It would appear that I need to expand my database a little though as there were part # changes made in 36 and new item replacement items that will hopefully show up in later catalogs so that said disregard the 36 end point.
You posted a photo of an original ( I am assuming original ) partial toolkit online that I have attached here, can you verify this as being an original kit and tell me the history of the kit so that I can solidify the statement.
Also would it be possible to have a color photograph, I have noticed that more often than not sometime is 31 a red handled screwdriver with a different ferrule has shown up in these kits and was surprised to see what I am assuming is your black handled driver long ferrule which appears to be an earlier design.
I have a couple of these bags now but mine are pretty dirty, what is the color of your bag, a light tan possibly, again a photo would be great, You mention on your pliers that there is a mark of 25 drop forged, I have record of the 32 Pliers having a 10 Drop Forged and 28 pliers as having a 19 Drop Forged bu unfortunately am still unclear on where this marking is to be found and how all these numbers correspond. A photo showing this would be most helpful, I have photos of the sets of pliers that I mention but I was lucky to get that from what I have been told and don't expect the sender of that info to do anything more to help elaborate on the subject.
A  clearer photo of your wrench and other tools with a straight downward view would be most helpful, it is difficult to get a clear view of shapes when viewed at an angle as is shown here.
Lastly in looking in my 29 model specific parts book is shows the bag or pouch not being serviced seperately, the data that you submitted ( which I have attached here ) shows that as well. One of the bags I have which is identical as far as i can tell as yours was given to me and was said to be from a 28-31 Dodge Plymouth Chrysler Desoto tool-kit bag, I have some  Dodge toolbags and these are not like Plymouth. Later I was told it was from a Plymouth anyway but unclear of the year just that it fell somewhere as stated above.
The other Plmouth tool-pouch I have is from a 34 and is also identical as far as I can tell from yours as well, what is your opinion on wether these tool bags changed all all from 1928 thru at least 35.
I say 35 because that is when Dodge changed dramatically the style of its bags so I am only winging a referance point.

Thanks for any consideration on this.......Jason
