41 Plymouth rocker panel replacement - Advice?

a picture would go very far on what you are currently working with..the angle needs to leave the building along with any other makeshift brace or rods...am very certain that there is shifting...the nature of the angle iron has a small foot print and would lend itself to diplacement over the normal "box" fabricated by proper inner and outer rocker panels.  Another question needing answered is if this is a two or four door as the center pillar if a 4 door is going to be involved.  I suggest any repair in this area be done with the doors hanging..you will adjust these to the door opening first and probalby will need to shif a pillar to make this happen..support of the body along the lower edge is a must..solid ground to jacking point a must and I have found that camper trailer screw jacks very handy here as thier foot print does not impeded your access to any great degree and are micro adjustable at the same time.   Proper alignment and suppor to prevent roof buckle is your prime concern...most folks like to start with the outer rocker and get the body lines right before installing the inner rocker for the added support and strength..beside it is not seen and if a tad off will never been seen on the loping elephant as they say.  On replaing rockers on my vehicles at the house I also leave as much of the inner floor in place as possible as it will also help prevent shifting and I use a angle iron full length to the inner rocker attached to a 2 x 4 for the purpose of keeping the door opening where I need them..wedges may nedd be inserted along the way by the support will be firm and still allow you room to do your welding..only full perimeter welds will be of use to you..do not cut corners..this is why you are where you at the point you are now....

if a four door and pillar B comes into play..once the doors are aligned and gaps are properly established..you can help hold this post position by alternate temp braces welded to the follor preferrable to the tunnel as this in itself is a very storng part of the lower body..

DO ONLY ONE SIDE AT A TIME...check door gap often and maintain the alignment..

I have a 41 Plymouth (P11) that has a length of angle iron on each side where the rocker panel should be and the floor boards have been replaced with sheet metal.  I know that replacement rocker panels are available but I'm pretty sure that the door jam may have been skewed because the clearances around the door seem to be off.  Any suggestions on how i would best correct the clearances when I go to replace the rocker panels and how I woudl get the rocker panels in the correct position?  Thanks.
