as long as the fuel pump has to wires out and is isolated from the pump body, then the pump can be mounted to the chassis, (recommend however isolation standoff for noise containment) and the wires hooked up according to the polarity of the vechicle you wish to mount it..

pressure test is always a good idea..as stated, the use of a regulator may be necessary..

Given that he has an updraft carburetor that was intended to be used with gravity feed from the lower half of the vacuum tank style fuel pump, the pressure will be much too high coming off of the electric pump. I would rephrase that to "a regulator will be necessary.."

I bought a 6 volt positive ground fuel pump for my '36 Plymouth about a year ago, from Summit Racing (They have an online catalog). It was around 100 bucks. I also had to buy an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, cuz the pump puts out 6 PSI, which caused my carb to flood. Proceding from the gas tank to the carb, the lineup is clear plastic fuel filter, fuel pump, and pressure regulator. I mounted the fuel filter, pump and pressure regulator behind and below the rumble seat backrest.

Where can I buy a electric fuel pump for the 30U?

It has the 6 volt positive ground system.

Can I use a 6 volt(negitive ground) fuel pump from the local parts store?

What about pressure........what would I need to pump up into the old canister on the firewall and then to the carb.

I plan to run the gas line thur the canister to keep the look orginial.......I will have to put a line inside the canister to prevent it from over-flowing, but that shouldn't be to hard to do.
