First beautiful spring day- clutch breakdown, but luckky..

I got his letter with the needed parts on Wednesday, 11:00 a.m.
No customs dues and no taxes asked...
at noon I brought the parts to my shop people.
Beeing a small business with only 1 enclosed repair place, they had to push the Plym every evening in and every morning out by hand, plus steering twice 90 degrees turns. They didn?t want to let it outside at night.

So I was pleased that they did the repair immediately - to get this annoying 2- weeks- task off the feet...
At 6 p.m., beautiful sunny weather,  I took the car home, making a big turn through my city district.

good luck again, Neil Riddle had all the parts I need. So no need to weld (?!) or to have  machined a new part- without having exact dimensional data!

I didn?t expect to find these bits and pieces so fast! Well, I immagined that some people have lots of thimgs- but I couldn?t immagine how they keep trace of them.... Mine are in a big box...

Neil must have put a gigantic  effort if he had catalogised all of his goodies. This work considering, I always find US prices really acceptable!

Pat beat me to it, glad that the problem was minor.  Will be looking forward to more photos of the convertible this coming driving season

One of my favorites is of the Plymouth next to the lighthouse and also the one with the Plymouth and train, AWESOME photos

Yesterday afternoon, on my schedule I had a periodical emergency training with my staff. In the same morning they told me I was wrong for one whole month?
So, too late  to  get other duties that afternoon, I was free to take the Plymouth out for the first ride on the first warm and sunny day this spring. As usual, it started immediately after a pause since 28 th October ?having the Batteries always attached to loading devices.   Made some 60 beautiful miles and went refueling at a friends gas and repair station.

At the next red traffic light, while restating, suddenly my clutch linkage broke down. but as the car was just beginning to move, the engine did not stall from the beat and hopping at first we drove? in first gear. I had two blocks back to my friend- and was able to do this not needing to stop once at  traffic lights or because of the heavy traffic. I wouldn?t have been able to restart.

  It was not the releasing fork, as I suspected, but the stud 6-52-19 broke within the bolt?s last thread.

  That was a lucky day, not having had this problem half an hour before on the narrow mountain lanes.  I would have lost hours to get it towed to the shop.

  The bolt will be bored out and a new one welded to the sphere head. Schedule: Next weekend back to the road?
