The article is titled "That 'Crazy' Manifold" and is about Plymouth's ram-inducted engines, both V-8 and /-6, in 1960.? ?It really goes into detail on the theory of tuned induction sytems and has pictures of both the SonoRamic Commando and the Hyper-Pac on engine stands out of vehicles.?
Another source is a 1962 Hot Rod publication with the title of Chrysler Corporation Cars Performance Handbook.? This one has an entire page depicting carb, cam. lifters, 4V intake manifold, unsilenced air cleaner (same as one from the SonoRamics), tuned exhaust headers as well as the complete low restriction exhaust system,? pressure plate, and clutch.
This latter handbook is a survivor from my hot rodding days and I don't know about its availability, but the July 1960 magazine can be puchased.
He might also try the Chrysler Historical folks as they still have some fairly extensive archives and they were helpful to me.?

Joe, That link you gave - very un-specific - it appears to be a "portal" not actual hot rod archives.  Do you have that issue of Hot Rod?  Maybe you could photo copy the article for him.  I will do some more searching for someplace that does have that issue of Hot Rod on line.  Otherwise he could look for it at used magazine sellers or a good library.

I did find that magazine here.

They want $17 for it - what article is going to help this guy?

Have him go online to http://www.hotrodarchives.com and go to the July 1960 edition of Hot Rod Magazine.

I got this message via email - maybe someone can help.

<<<>>>

I'm currently writing a book for Car Tech about factory lightweight drag cars and in need of assistance. I'm seeking period photos and stories about Plymouth factory drag cars, particularly the lightweights. I also need photos of a 61 Valiant and if possible a slant six engine equipped with the Hyper-Pack option.

I will gladly pay for any costs incurred and of course give copy credit.

Hoping your club members can be of assistance.

Thank you,
