Found a motor thanks to all the guys who said keep looking

I talked to the guy with the 1940 . it had a 42 Dodge motor in it a D12 so still looking/

Looks like it is still there. Go to the link provided below and when you get there click on Forums and go down to Buy/Sell/Trade/Wanted and then click on Parts for Sale/Wanted. It sounds like it would work for you. You may have to join that forum which is easy so you can send and receive PM's and email. Well worth your while if the engine is what you want. It says it came from a 1940 Plymouth and if original to the car would be perfect for you. You snooze you lose. Let us know if it works out.

Check out the Plymouth site www.oldplymouths.com. On the forum, under Parts for sale/wanted, there was a 40 Plymouth engine and trans. available recently.

No have not found one yet. i will just keep looking. has to be a decent one somewhere.

Hi, have you found one yet? If not just want to encourage to keep plugging, took four years for me to find block with correct serial number for '40 PT-105. The truck came with 23" engine with serial number ground off, its a shame they had that practice. The engine turns over free and would probably run if I put a mind to it. Just won't work for a restoration without the serial number. Will contact you if I run up on one. Richie MA

looking for a good block and head for my 40 conv. Currenty has a later year motor. Northeast will pick up.
