'61 plymouth fury

I am afraid that if you are getting a 1961 Sport Fury - it is a FAKE!  The Sport Fury is not produced in 1960 or 1961.

There was a Sport Fury in 1959 then the line was retired till 1962 when the Sport Fury returned and continued till 1971.  The Sport Fury however was only a 2 dr hardtop or 2 dr convertible.  The Sport Fury after 1962 came standard with bucket seats and up-grade performance items like power brakes and steering.  Also special badges were included in the package.  The Sport Fury was usually Premium price level - meaning it cost more.  They are worth slightly more today

Make sure first that it is a 1961 and if it is - it is probably NOT a Sport Fury.

Can someone tell me the difference between a fury and a sport fury for '61? I see reference to a sport fury here and there but am ignorant to the difference. The reason I'm curios is I may be the owner of one real soon. Thanks, Bill
