Bob,

The gas tank strap sleeve nuts are no longer available.  Made one from a threaded rod coupler & replaced the broken tang to fit.

Where were you stationed in AK?

They are still available through Dave Kruse in California .........

Tod,

Oh good grief!  I knew that I had seen them advertised, ASSUMED eBay & then searched my files to no avail.  I thank you very much!  I'll order a pair this morning.  Thanks again for helping this gray head!

If you are a POC member then you should be getting the magazine. In the classified section in the back there is a fellow selling gas tank strap nuts. Are those similar to the ones you need?

This is my virgin experience!  Looking for a source of gas tank strap nuts for a 1955 Ply.  It's a tube about 1.5" long with a large nut on top & takes a 5/16" fine thread tang bolt.   Could also use a 3.5" tang bolt to fit.  Also need the right side rocker panel SS trim piece from a '55 Belvedere with Sportone trim & the left rear quarter panel SS trim piece that's in good condition from any 1955 model with two tone paint.  Been a POC member for several years & didn't know this site existed.  I'm delighted to have found you!  Scott
