seperate sections on this board

I just thought that I would ask. I guess that were all not the same and have different views. I was just thinking that it could be a little more cleaned up that way. I very seldom read every section on my other sites and sometimes I dont need to. I like it that way. Thats just me.

I just clicked the SEARCH icon at the top of this page and entered the word "brakes".? I instantly got 14 pages of posts relating to brakes.? There's our brake section.? It should work the same with any area, i.e., exhaust, electrical, fuel, etc...

There are two other web sites I visit regularly that have many more sections than I care to examine each day. One of them allows me to call up "today's posts" which works well for me. The other does not and I end up only looking at one section regularly. Even on this web site I seldom/never look at a couple of sections. So from my point of view the fewer sections the better. But if the forum software being used allows a way to see the days post on all sections then I guess we could have the best of both worlds: A singled unified view for people like me and a many section view for others.

Fitch, I understand what your saying but an extra mouse click? That wouldnt cause you to read any more than you are now. I believe that "new" comes up after the title when someone replies to the post.
Mike - The way I suggested would make it simple. It would also prevent people from having to search through the entire Genral or Tech section to find something about there car. If someone was working on breaks then they could go directly to that section. Sometimes the information is repeated. To add three or more specific sections would not cause any confussion.  You could leave the general section as it is and anything could be posted. Some times people post things in the Tech section that should go in the Gen section and vis versa.
It may be hard for some people to change but the way I look at it is - I dont put my scew drivers in the same drawer as my wrench's. Just thought that I would throw it out there and ask.

Only if there was also an option to see all recent posts in all sections.

I'd rather not add too many more mouse clicks to my daily reading schedule. :)

Thought that I would request to have a seperate section on brakes or chassie. It seems to me that a lot of folks on this site ask about brakes. People have responded and gave some great advice but it seems to be repeated ofton. If the site was broke up into sections like - Eng/Tranny, Chassie, Body and electric, it would be more defined and easier to use. I understand this may take a little more effort in running the site but, thought that I would ask.
