The other option is to back off the castle nuts a couple turns, put the cotter key back in and drive till you hear them pop loose.

Go to the home page of the POC website you should find a link to Dave Pollack's article about pulling the rear drums.

I followed his advice last Spring with the rear hubs on my '40 P-10 Business coupe, his advice worked fine for me.

You definitely need a puller. Search for a topic rea brake drums in this forum. You will find ethe puller.

need a little help.  got a wheel cylinder leaking right rear on my 48 plym special deluxe coupe and thought i would rebuild or replace them. how do i get the brake drums off the rear. do i need a puller? i dont want to bust anything.  thanks in advance, let me know.
